Bursera Microphylla, commonly known as the Elephant Tree is a Frankincense Tree is Native to the Southwest regions of the United States and reaches South into Southern Mexico. This is a very Special Tree that has Healing Properties and its' Resin 'Copal' is used in ceremonies as incense. There has also been Topical Use of the Resin to treat Skin Ailments.
The Beautiful Pealing Bark and Small Pinnate Leaves make such a nice Tree to have, growing to a Height of 30' in its' Natural Habitat. This is a Deciduous Tree and it will lose its' leaves during the Dormancy period.
Bursera Microphylla is Cold Hardy down to a Low of 25F.
Use a Gritty Soil Amendment with an Organic Cactus Mix to Promote Drainage.
