Agave Colorata A

The Agave Colorata is a succulent native to Sonora, Mexico.  This is a Medium size Agave that can reach heights of 1' and approximately 2' wide.  This plant will offshoot regularly and produces a nice cluster in the garden or a large pot.  The Terminal spines are jagged with ferocious marginal teeth that form on blueish rosettes.  The bloom spikes 10' high above the ground revealing it's firework display of orange and yellow flowers. This species of Agave is cold hardy down to a low of 15F.

Use a gritty soil amendment with your organic cactus mix.
